Our community is the biggest strength of AISD. It is important that the district represent the values of the people we serve.
Accomplishments
Invited to speak at Stop Asian Hate Rally, Rally for Kindness, Spark Change (Girls Empowerment Network), Chinese American Association, Indian American Coalition of Texas gala, Rep. Vikki Goodwin’s Education panel, Educators for Solidarity, Wise Up South Asian politics, Austin ISD X podcast, BRAVE Communities, Austin Neighborhood Council, League of Women Voters, HABLA platica, Black Minister’s Union, Education Austin, and much more!
Collected 10 trunk-fulls of emergency supplies and groceries during Winter Storm Uri and donated to Foundation Communities apartments and Communities in Schools
Collaborated with the E3 Alliance and Austin Chamber of Commerce to set higher postsecondary standards for AISD students
Looking Ahead
Be a “destination district” for families of all income levels and backgrounds in Central Texas.
Be responsive to current families’ needs so that they STAY in AISD.
Double Pre-K enrollment in AISD
Improve communications inside and outside of the district
Strengthen relationships with parent/caregiver advocates and volunteers
Build stronger partnerships with local industries, non-profits, community organizations, and local governmental entities to maximize resources
Engage our community, especially our historically marginalized communities, in decision-making
